I must say that this is one of the first caribbean books that i have ever enjoyed.
at first, being not a fan of local books, i was reluctant to read it.Imust say it was “WORTH” it.
I found the book to be a combination of pleasure, excitement, suspense, colour and beuty.
Iam now proud to say that i like local books Mr. Anthony has truly changed my perspective in things and my judgment.
His descriptive writing was also great i hope this is not the end of his writing.

The book “All That Glitters” was, in my opinion, phenomenal so far. I have not yet completed it but its definitely one of my priorities to complete.
The author, Michael Anthony, is very descriptive and precise. His descriptions give the reader a clear image as well as an insight to the characters themselves. Like ~Myi~ stated before, I’ve also never been one for Caribbean books except a selected few and the school assigned ones such as Beka Lamb by Zee Edgell. However, this book was very interesting and I felt a distinct spark of pride to know that such a unique work of art has come from our island. That feeling is something that I could not have experienced from reading any fNon-Trinidadian book. Although I won’t stop reading novels from foreign authors, in the future I shall be more receptive to Caribbean books and like ~Myi~, I am anxiously awaiting further titles from Mr. Michael Anthony.

The students and Staff at Barataria North really enjoyed “All that Glitters” by Michael Anthony
Every lunchtime from the 24th of March until school closed for Easter vacation the children gathered to hear the book being read to them by a few teachers. One teacher in particular really read well and i could see the characters coming to life for the children as he read! They laughted at the old sayings in the book like “yuh load up like a San Juan Mule”! lol

We really enjoyed this activity and the Library will try to host a few more lunchtime book readings when the children come back from vacation. :)

All That Glitters…this book was really good. I think it is the 1st time that I have read a book written by a Trinidadian author. It really opened up my mind to Caribbean books on a whole.

My favourite character is Horace as I find I can relate to him best.

I look forward to reading more books by Mr. Anthony

My favourite character in the book is auntie roomeen because i general find that she was very fun and she connected very well with Horace. I also found that Horace was a bit of a comedian , especialy when he spoke of uncle Ulric’s teeth , that it was yellow like gold.. additionally the interview was very interesting it gave a very good idea of the general backround history of th book… it was A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.
